Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - A Hazmat team was called in to contain a chemical disposal problem at a store on Emerson Street Tuesday morning.

According to the Rochester Fire Department, crews arrived at the Sherwin Williams on Emerson Street around 7:15 a.m. for the report of an unknown chemical odor.

A level 0 hazmat was declared roughly 15 minutes later. Firefighters determined approximately five gallons of an unknown chemical were disposed of down a drain at the building. No one was at the building at the time firefighters arrived.

Hazmat crews were able to flush the chemical and ventilate the building.

No one has reported any illness or injury and the incident is now under investigation by the DEC.
