Driving holidays, either within the UK or Europe (with the optional extra of comprehensive European cover).
Benefits of Dayinsure One Month Car Insurance
The main benefit of 1 month car insurance is that it provides cost-effective cover for 30 days compared to individual day rates. Cheap one month car insurance also avoids taking out an annual policy when you don’t need it for that long.
All our policies include free legal expenses cover and as they are standalone then there will be no impact on your No Claims Discount (NCD) should you need to make a claim.
Arranging 1 month car insurance is quick and efficient as you can receive a quote and book it online, with cover starting from 15 minutes later.
Who is Eligible?

Should you get short term insurance to drive for one month?
If you need to use a car for a month most short term car insurance policies can cover you, but it is not always the cheapest way to insure your car.
All the insurers in the table above can cover you for at least 28 days, but it can sometimes be cheaper to take out and cancel an annual policy even though you will need to pay a cancellation fee.
This is because short term cover is usually more expensive per day than annual car insurance.
Is short term or annual cover cheaper for one month?
It depends, short term insurance will almost always be cheaper for less than a month, but annual cover is often the best option if you need cover for longer.
To find out you should get quotes for both short term and annual car insurance to work out which is cheaper. Make sure you find out what the cancellation fee is. For example:
Short term policy quote: For 28 days of cover = £205.
Annual policy quote: Initial payment of £150, and a cancellation fee of £35. Total cost for one month’s cover = £185.
In this example, it is £20 cheaper to take out and cancel an annual policy.
Make sure you check the cancellation fee, as some insurers will charge up to £70.
Here is how to work out if you need short term cover
Should you take out one month cover?
Even if you find an annual policy works out cheaper, it can be better to get a short term policy.
If you take out an annual policy some insurers will insist you pay the full premium if you make a claim.
If the total cost of the cover for a full year is £1,000, you will need to pay this amount even if you cancel it after a month if you have made a claim, so make sure you check the policy for this when you compare quotes.
If you need a vehicle for only a few days or weeks, it will almost always be cheaper to take out a short term car insurance policy.
Whichever option you choose you need to make sure you get the right level of insurance, not just the cheapest. This guide explains what car insurance protects you against.
What is temporary car insurance?
Fully comprehensive cover for cars from 1 day up to 28 days.
An alternative to a 12 month policy, it’s a short term car insurance solution for everyday tasks like a trip to the supermarket or emergencies where someone may need to borrow your car but they’re not covered by your existing insurance policy.
It’s generally a cheaper and more flexible option than buying a new policy, or amending an existing one.
Who might it be good for?
Young drivers — If you’re aged under 21, don’t have your own car but have access to a friend or relatives car, you might want to take out a shorter insurance policy to cover you whilst on holiday from University or to allow you to drive to a festival
Classic car enthusiasts — If you own a classic car or sports car that’s used as a second car, you might be interested in taking out weekend insurance to cover you for that short period where you want to head out and make the most of your car
Learner drivers — If you’re learning to drive and only have time to fit in lessons every now and then, taking out insurance as and when you need it could be cheaper than taking out a full length policy
One day insurance — If you have an emergency or need to use a car to move home, you could arrange one day insurance to cover your needs
How does short term car insurance work?

The date and time you’d like cover to begin and end
A temporary car insurance policy could be useful in an emergency to sort out one day car insurance or cover for routine tasks like taking a trip to the shop, getting to work if your car is in the garage for repair or borrowing a bigger car to help you move house.
