Dangerous driver distractions
The RAC Report on Motoring 2016 has revealed the number of drivers illegally using their mobiles at the wheel is on the rise. A total 31% of the 1,714 motorists polled admitted to using their phones, which is a sharp increase from the 8% recorded in 2014.
With 19% of drivers surfing social media sites while behind the wheel and 14% taking videos and photos, the motoring organisation has hailed the use of handheld mobiles the «biggest road safety concern among motorists today».
